Diy Cake Topper With Cricut

This DIY cake topper is so easy and fun to make! All you need is your Cricut machine and some cardstock. I used white cardstock for my topper, but you could use any color that coordinates with your party theme.

To start, open up the Cricut Design Space software. Then, find the “cake” image in the shapes library. Once you have found it, click and drag it onto your canvas.

Click on the “ungroup” button at the top of the screen. This will allow you to edit each layer of the cake separately. For this project, we only need to work with the bottom layer of the cake.

So, delete all of the other layers by clicking on them and pressing “delete” on your keyboard. Now it’s time to resize our cake layer. We want it to be about 5 inches wide, so click on the “resize” button at the top of the screen.

Type in 5 inches for both the width and height dimensions and press “enter” on your keyboard. Next, we need to add a message to our cake topper! To do this, find a font that you like in Design Space (I used Bebas Neue) and type out your message using either upper or lower case letters – it doesn’t matter which one since we will be cutting out our letters individually anyway.

Once you have typed out your message, select all of the text by clicking and dragging over it with your mouse cursor. Then click on “ weld ” in order to attach all of those little pieces together into one larger piece . Now you can move this around as one whole piece without worry about losing any individual letters!
